PRINCE William shakes hands with Phil Foden and Erling Haaland before yesterday’s FA Cup Final — but the Man City duo weren’t smiling after the match.

But the triumph may not have been enough to save Utd boss Erik Ten Hag.

The Dutchman is expected to be sacked by new Utd minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe — and appeared to say goodbye to his players on the pitch.

After the match Erik issued a defiant response to rumours he could be sacked.

The Red Devils boss’ future has been in doubt for several weeks following their disappointing season.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, he explained: “Two trophies in two seasons and three finals. That’s not bad.

“If they don’t want me any more I go somewhere else to win trophies. That is what I do.”

He added: “I am here to win and I want to build a team. My whole managerial career I have won games and trophies.”

As for the success he has brought to Old Trafford compared to those before him, he said: “When you see the last decade, there were not so many finals and trophies for this club.”

United’s FA Cup triumph is their second trophy since Ten Hag’s arrival in 2022 following last season’s Carabao Cup win.
