Paul Coughlin was the man who produced the brilliant catch with his follow through.

Lancashire’s batsmen Matthew Hurst was attempting to step down the track but instead got a leading edge on the ball.

The 31-year-old Coughlin initially dived to try and save himself, but he remarkably managed to get his hands around it for an awesome catch.

Durham’s official X account were quick to share footage of the jaw-dropping act.

They captioned the clip with: “OH MY WORD!!!! PAUL COUGHLIN.

It did not take long for it to start going viral on social media.

And it soon caught the eye of England cricket legend Stokes.

The 33-year-old Test captain retweeted the footage and then captioned it: “What the heck…joke that.”

But he was not the only one to be amazed by it as cricket fans also lauded the catch.

One wrote: “My goodness, at first I thought he was getting hit… a catch in a million! Wow!”

Another called the catch “the greatest of all time”.

A fellow fan echoed that, writing: “Greatest catch of all time imo, can’t think of any better.”

A fourth said: “Absolutely phenomenal.”

A sixth declared: “This has to be the craziest reflex caught and bowled.

While a seventh added: “One in a thousand catch.”
