And Gareth Southgate’s men had their loved ones cheering them on as they made a dream start to the tournament.

Bukayo Saka’s deflected cross was headed home by Bellingham from close-range after just 13 minutes, and that proved to be the only goal of the game.

The Real Madrid midfielder, 20, had his younger brother Jobe, who plays for Sunderland, watching on alongside their parents.

And Arsenal attacker Saka’s partner Tolami Benson looked nervous as she fiddled with her hair in the build-up waiting for kick off.

But they were not the only family and friends in attendance.

Megan, who welcomed their second child into the world last September, was decked out in a white England shirt with the No.1, in honour of her hubby Pickford, on the front.

And she was spotted capturing the moment pre-match as the atmosphere built on her phone camera.Megan was also seen deep in conversation with another England WAG, Aine Kennedy.

Decked out in the No.16 kit, she was there to cheer on her partner Conor Gallagher, who was named on the bench by Southgate.

Fellow substitute Ollie Watkins had his girlfriend Ellie Anderson to support him from the stands.

While Three Lions skipper Harry Kane’s brother Charlie had his sibling’s shirt on while the striker’s wife, Katie Goodland, had the same No.9 jersey in white.

It was a dream start thanks to Bellingham’s opener, sparking celebration in the friends and family section of the England camp.

However, the Three Lions failed to turn their dominance into more goals before the break as they went in just one ahead.

Gallagher did get introduced to the action late on as England looked to hold on to their lead.

And they did have to survive some heavy pressure, although Kane almost doubled their lead as he hit the crossbar near the end.

But the one goal from man of the match Bellingham proved to be enough to secure the three points.

Now they can secure a place in the knockouts if they beat Denmark in their second group game on Thursday.

Bellingham told BBC afterwards: “I thought they are a very tough side. Very robust, strong and a big group of lads and it was important that we prepared well.

“The staff got it right. We prepared all week very well. We knew the roles we had to do. We try to keep to our own standards and try to do our own job.

“It’s important that we got off to a good start. Positive inside the camp and onto the next one.

“I have got used to getting into the box, getting wide and trying to do that. I got into that habit at Madrid and I wanted to carry my form into the Euros.

“It’s a great start for me personally to get my confidence up and to help the lads get the win is the most important thing.”
