Liverpool vs West Ham preview
Liverpool will look to burst West Ham’s bubble when the pair clash at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Both sides went a goal down in their Europa League openers on Thursday, and both fought back to secure comfortable 3-1 victories.
The pair have also enjoyed a comfortable start to their domestic campaigns with Liverpool unbeaten and winning four of their opening five league fixtures.
However, the Reds aren’t exactly making things easy for themselves having conceded the first goal in four of their six competitive games this season.
West Ham have taken ten points from a possible 15, beating the likes of Chelsea and in-form Brighton to sit sixth in the division.
But again, the Hammers are vulnerable at the back having failed to keep a single clean sheet in their first six encounters of the 2023-24 campaign.
David Moyes’ side are unbeaten on the road, but Liverpool boast a 100% record at Anfield – something’s got to give when the pair go head-to-head this weekend.

The Hammers have given away 60 corners in six matches with opposition averaging 10 a match. Even Europa League opponents Backa Topola registered four at the London Stadium on Thursday.
Only Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United have won more than Liverpool’s 34 corner kicks this year, and the hosts should add to that tally in a game they’ll dominate possession.

Mohamed Salah has an excellent chance of getting on the scoresheet against West Ham at Anfield this weekend. The Egyptian, 31, is available at Evens to score in his third-successive home fixture, and add to his tally of NINE goals in 12 appearances against the Hammers.
Liverpool have scored at least once against West Ham in all 15 matches since January 2016, and have already notched up six in two at Anfield this season.

West Ham will no doubt be under the cosh for large portions of Sunday’s meeting. The Hammers had 37% possession in their trip to Bournemouth, and just 22% in their win over Brighton – it should be somewhere in the middle this weekend.
Only Lucas Paqueta has committed more fouls than Emerson for West Ham this season (7) and it’s not gone unnoticed by officials, who’ve booked him three times in five games. He should have his hands full up against Mohamed Salah and could get caught out on the counter.
