‘There were never any excuses’, says Antonio Valencia as former Old Trafford star slams Man Utd after Fulham loss
ANTONIO VALENCIA slammed Manchester United’s performance against Fulham by claiming “there were never any excuses” when he was wearing the shirt.
Erik ten Hag’s man crashed to a 2-1 defeat on Saturday, putting in a dismal performance in front of their fans at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils were second-best all over the pitch as they fell to a 97th minute Fulham winner.
And the result leaves them eight points off fourth, putting their Champions League hopes for next season in serious doubt.
The pressure could soon be on for Ten Hag, who has a new boss in Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The British billionaire says he wants to “knock Liverpool and Man City off their perch”.
And Ten Hag is adamant United are on the right path after issuing a defiant message after the Fulham game.
But former Red Devils captain Valencia isn’t so sure.
He took to Twitter to deliver a scathing verdict of United’s latest performance.
Posting a picture of himself during his Old Trafford days, Valencia wrote on X: “Until the last moment for this shirt, there were never any excuses.”

His comments came after current skipper Bruno Fernandes was seen berating referee Michael Oliver following the final whistle.
And fans implored Valencia to get back to United to sort things out.

Another declared: “Someone who played for the badge evert game.”

Valencia joined United in 2009 from Wigan and ended up scoring 25 goals in 339 games.
He won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and a Europa League during his time under various bosses including Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.
Valencia ended up playing in his native Ecuador after departing United in 2019.
And his final club spell came in Mexico with Queretaro in 2021, with Valencia retiring later that year.
