Arsenal did not look at all like the side that Porto beat in the week.

After a 1-0 defeat in Portugal, the Gunners made sure fans could leave that in the past as they went straight back to it with a thumping victory.

And there were signs that summer-signing Kai Havertz is slowly getting back to his best after a tough start in London.

Starboy Saka also scored and particular mention should go to Jorginho who was at the centre of it all.

Arteta’s squad have scored now 25 goals since the new year and it does not look like they will be stopping anytime soon.

Here’s how SunSport’s Ellie Grant rates the Arsenal team…

David Raya – 6

An easy one for Raya – one goal may have slipped in but he did not have very much work to do as the Magpies could not break down Arsenal’s backline.

And when they did Raya was there at their feet to stop it.

Ben White – 6

Provided a good effort at the back but not as high up in the flank as fans usually expect him.

But the defender made sure the Magpies knew not to bother coming down the Gunner’s end.

William Saliba – 8

Did well to assist the Gunner’s frontline. Provided excellent effort in the first half for the first two goals walking all over the Magpies.

Gabriel Magalhaes – 7

It may have not been his goal in the first 45 but that did not matter.

Excellent effort in both halves and consistently provided chances for the attackers.

Jakub Kiwior – 8

He may have been very quiet in the first half.

But he roared in the second contributing for the fourth goal for the Gunners.

Martin Odegaard – 8

The skipper may have got the yellow card early on but this did not stop him from from being in the centre of it all.

Had great control of the game pulling the strings and threading the passes to create chances.

Declan Rice – 7

The midfielder ensured that the counter-attack was never on and was continuously providing chances for his side throughout the game.

Kai Havertz – 9

He may have struggled in Porto but the German shined at the Emirates.

A stellar effort from the £65million signing who chipped in his sixth goal of the season.

Bukayo Saka – 9

The winger once again found the back of the net to boost his tally to 13 goals this term.

He continuously danced his way through Newcastle’s defence to make sure he was at the centre of the magic.

Jorginho – 8

In the mix of it all the whole game from start to finish. Prevented Newcastle from getting forward at all times.

Absolute star of the show for nearly the whole 90 minutes of the game.

Gabriel Martinelli – 8

The Brazillian shinned in the first half supporting Havertz to find the back of the net.

Constantly in the mix of the game not backing down to the Magpie’s defense.

Subs

Eddie Nketiah – 7
