Mykhailo Mudryk given standing ovation after being subbed off by Chelsea as fans say they ‘love him so much’

CHELSEA fans said they “love Mykhailo Mudryk so much” after giving him a standing ovation during Wednesday night’s win over Brighton.

The 22-year-old has struggled to find his feet since joining the Blues – but a boost from supporters may help bring his confidence back.

Nicolas Jackson scored the only goal as Mauricio Pochettino’s side won only their third game of the season in the Carabao Cup clash.

In fact, Jackson’s strike was the Blues’ only goal in the whole of September.

One of the brightest stars on the night, though, was Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian offered a lot on both sides of the pitch proving to be a real threat against Robert De Zebri’s side.

And fans were loving it.

Every time the ball was in Mudryk’s possession he had Chelsea fans out of their seats.

It clearly meant the world to him with Mudryk looking emotional as he walked off.

Blues’ supporters also took to Twitter to share their love for the winger.

One fan said: “I love him so much. I really really want him to succeed here. He needs two or three experienced players around him.”

Another added: “Well deserved.”

A third put: “Was absolutely class today hopefully more to come from him .”

The Ukrainian joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth up to £89million last season.

He snubbed a move to Arsenal to join Todd Boehly’s revolution but has failed to score a goal in 23 appearances for the club.

Mudryck had scored 10 goals in 18 appearances for Shakhtar during the first half of the 2022-23 campaign prior to sealing his Premier League transfer.
