JOSHUA DIXON is a strength and conditioning coach and the son of a Premier League winner.

He has worked with the FA since 2017 and served as a coach for the Lionesses as they won the Euros in 2022.

Dixon, who is the son of former Arsenal defender Lee, is also a sports and exercise science lecturer at Oxford Brookes University.

Prior to joining the FA, he spent time with the Nike Academy, a football team run by the sportswear brand.

The Nike Academy worked to help unsigned under-20 players find a professional club, with Aston Villa’s Matty Cash amongst the notable stars to have participated in their trials.

Dixon later joined the FA as a consultant physical performance coach, a role which has seen him work with a variety of age groups.

He was also part of the support team for Sarina Wiegman’s England side at the 2022 Women’s Euros on home soil.

The Lionesses went on to win the tournament for the first time by beating Germany in the final at Wembley Stadium.

As well as the Lionesses, Dixon has also worked with the Young Lions in the past.

Amongst the players he has seen feature for England at youth level is Arsenal academy graduate Emile Smith Rowe.

Dixon even passed on a glowing review of the midfielder, who has one goal in three senior caps for England, to his dad.

The ex-Gunners defender passed on his son’s comments prior to Smith Rowe’s international debut in 2021.

He told NBC Sports: “He’s been a shining light this season. He’s a player.

“My son knows him through the England set-up. Really humble boy, wants to win, wants to learn – hungry.”

Dixon himself is an Arsenal icon after making 590 appearances for the club and scoring 26 goals from right-back.

He won four league titles with the Gunners, including two during the Premier League era.

Those triumphs were amongst 12 major trophies he lifted across 14 years with the club.

The 59-year-old also scored once in 22 caps for England before retiring in 2002 aged 38.
