Anderson, 35, won four Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2008 with legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

For many, hitting the back of the net at Old Trafford is a dream come true – but spending his fortune on cows was supposedly the midfielder’s real goal.

Peter Crouch explained on his podcast: “Anderson told Rio Ferdinand, ‘I’m going to earn enough money so I can buy 50 cows in Brazil.’

“He did and I believe now he has got hundreds of cows.

“It’s what he wanted to achieve – he could have a farm.”

Crouch revealed Anderson’s business venture was something to do with producing high quality steaks.

Podcast co-hosts Steve Sidwell and Chris Stark could not believe it and started beef over the shock revelation.

So much so that Crouch decided to send Ferdinand a message to confirm it wasn’t a case of ‘pull the udder one’.

The ex-Liverpool striker asked: “I’m getting a lot of grief from the lads, are you certain Anderson retired and bought a load of cows? Can you confirm or deny?”

Ferdinand, who played with Anderson throughout his time at Man Utd, responded to say it is true and the STEAKS were high in the cattle business.

The former defender said: “Yeah he did, he used to buy cows.

“I remember once we were talking about investing and he came in with the shout from the wide left, as random as you’d ever know: ‘Cows is a good market to get into.’

“He’s buying f***ing cows man, I couldn’t believe it. That’s what he is into.

“I think he has done all right you know, loads of people eat cows don’t they.”

Anderson moo-ved on from playing when he hung up his boots in 2020.

He had been capped eight times by Brazil and also had spells at Porto and Fiorentina.
