No pitch is in place at the temporary arena but markings for the wicket have been made.

Construction workers were seen today still putting the finishing touches to the stands.

The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is located on the outskirts of New York.

And 34,000 fans are set to fill the venue on June 3 as Sri Lanka face South Africa.

It will also play host to the mouthwatering clash between India and Pakistan six days later.

The International Cricket Council insist the stadium will be “state of the art” and despite cutting it fine, it will be ready on time.

They have shipped and repurposed temporary stands used at the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix earlier this year.

The ICC claim work on the field will commence on April 29 and building works will finish on May 6.
