Jonathan Hosts Benue Governor, Ortom In Abuja
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Tuesday visited former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Naija News understands the two chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met at the residence of the former President in Abuja.
Explaining what was discussed during the meeting, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ortom, Nathaniel Ikyur said the discussion between the two leaders focused on how to strengthen the PDP ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Oshiomhole Is Suffering From PTSD – Fayemi Fires Former APC Chairman Over Rigging Allegation
The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has condemned the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole for claiming he once asked him to rig an election in his favour.
The Presidential aspirant claimed that Oshiomhole is still suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following his removal as Chairman of APC.
Fayemi called on the public to disregard the allegations of Oshiomhole which he made on national television.
The Ekiti State Governor in a statement released through his spokesman, Yinka Oyebode further stated that he has no reason to approach Comrade Oshiomhole for favours for any election.

Former Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, who dominated the affairs of the state from 1999 through 2007, says all through his wife’s career as a judicial officer, he never for once attempted to influence her in any matter.
Odili was speaking during a state banquet in honour of Justice Mary Odili on the occasion of her retirement from the Supreme Court at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Odili recalled two instances when a late traditional ruler in Port Harcourt and his extended family members from Ndoni approached him to intervene in matters before his wife’s court, but he declined and offered to help them pay their legal fees.
2023: Details Of Uzodinma’s Meeting With APC Chairman Abdullahi Emerge
The details of the meeting between Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Adamu Abdullahi, has emerged.
Naija News learned that Uzodinma met with Abdullahi behind closed doors at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday afternoon.
A party source who spoke to The Nation said the governor met with the APC chairman to discuss the emergence of the party’s presidential candidate and ensure a winning unity list ahead of the 2023 general elections
He added that the leaders met to resolve the two contending tendencies in Imo state with a view to winning all the federal and state legislative seats in 2023.
The APC chieftain disclosed that the meeting was part of wide consultation with some critical leaders at the state level ahead of the party primaries.
2023: Trouble For Tinubu, Amaechi, Others As Top APC Chieftains Push For Northern Presidency
Some top chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have started pushing for the party’s presidential ticket to be zoned to the North.
Naija News learned that the plan to choose the party’s flag bearer from the North has gone far after a series of meetings by promoters of Northern candidacy.
It was gathered that the move for a Northern candidacy has created apprehension in the camps of the major Southern presidential aspirants.
Some of the Southern hopefuls are the APC National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
According to Daily Trust, the agenda is being promoted by some northern elders, governors, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and lawmakers.
2023 Elections: INEC Reveals Fate Of Parties Who Exceed Primaries Deadline
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will not listen to any political party that fails to meet the June 4 deadline for the conduct of primaries.
The commission’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Outreach and Partnership Committee (OPC), Prof. Adekunle Ajayi, made this known on Monday at an event in Abuja.
He said INEC had fixed April 4th to June 3rd, 2022 for political parties to conduct their primaries to democratically elect their flagbearers for the 2023 general elections.
The INEC commissioner disclosed that none of the 18 political parties had conducted their presidential primaries three weeks before the deadline.
Ajayi, however, advised the parties to stick to the timeline given for the conduct of their primaries, adding that the commission would not listen to any excuse or tolerate late conduct of the primaries.
