Obidients Slam Obaseki Over Comment On Running Out Of Steam

Some supporters of the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi known as Obidients have criticised the governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki over his comment about them.

According to the Obidients, Obaseki was wrong to have said their movement will run out of steam in trying to ensure Obi emerges as president in 2023.

Naija News understand that Obidients, took to the micro-blogging platform Twitter after Obaseki made the comment about them running out of steam.

Obaseki, who passed the comment at the inauguration of the Edo state Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) campaign council in the state yesterday said “people who say they are Obidients, of course, they will be but they will run out of steam. We know how to manage elections, how many people have been able to do what we are doing? They can’t even form their campaign council not to talk about having a timetable for election, you get it.”

However, the Obidients didn’t take the comment lightly as Twitter was buzzing with reaction from the Obi supporters who are alleged to be just an online movement.

One of the Obidients with @TheCuriousMind1 said “out of steam with just three months to the election? As long as there’s hunger, poverty and insecurity, my brother Obaseki, steam will be increasing even more. So think well.”

Another user @Princes51013171 remarked that “it’s like this man has been lashed for having stylishly supported Obidient in the past? But regardless, our labour will never be in vain. It’s you, the entire PDP and APC that your efforts will be in vain. Obi shall triumph and be declared a winner come 2023 God willing!”

Another supporter @EmekaKa36263450, said “they thought we are tired. If only they know how prepared we are. People are busy doing underground work for PO. From December, you are going to see men spring out from all angles to the needful. PO is coming…”

Another Obidient @Albazzini, added that “Gov Obaseki knows that his household would vote for Peter Obi. His cabinet and Edolites are Obidient. He should stop deceiving Atiku. 2023 is around the corner and no amount of running down would stop the movement. Nigerians would #VoteWisely.”

Meanwhile, Obaseki at the inauguration said it has become mandatory for the PDP to emerge winner in the 2023 elections so Nigerians can be rescued from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC.).

According to him, no administration has ever caused Nigerians enough damage like the APC’s, and the debt profile in the APC government has hit N60 trillion.

He furthered that if the presidential candidate of the APC for the 2023 general election, Bola Tinubu, is elected as president next year, Nigeria will completely collapse.

The governor said, “God forbid APC comes into power, this country will break; this country will fail, it has already failed, because no government has ever done the kind of damage the APC has done to this country.

“As I speak today, the debt of this country is going to N60trn. When are we going to come out of it? Every day, every month, they are printing and printing money to pay salaries.

“When I cried out years ago, I never knew it was as bad as this. What will happen to the Naira? Only God will help us. The party (APC) has destroyed the basis of this country. Electing Tinubu will lead to a total collapse of the country,” Obaseki submitted.
