Nemanja Matic lined up for shock Premier League transfer return after spells with Chelsea and Man Utd

NEMANJA MATIC could make a return to the Premier League this month.

The 35-year-old Serbian spent almost ten years in England’s top flight with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Matic is currently on the books at French outfit Stade Rennais, but is set to leave this month following a reported fall out with the club.

Reports suggest that the executives at the Ligue 1 club promised the midfielder they would enrol his children into an international school.

However, there is no school of that type in the French city.

And now Matic is said to have cleared his locker and has his heart set on a January exit.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, that exit could be to Premier League side Fulham.

The Cottagers are reported to be interested in striking up a deal to bring him back to the league where he enjoyed an enormous amount of success.

Matic won three Premier League titles during his time in England and made over 250 appearances in the competition.

But it won’t be easy for Fulham to get a deal over the line with other suitors rivalling the London club for Matic’s signature.

Lyon are also understood to be interested in signing the defensive midfielder should he wish to stay in France.

According to RMC Sport, Rennes will not stand in the way of a move and will facilitate a transfer for Matic this winter if possible to do so.

Others have suggested that he is considering retirement due to the whole situation, but the star has not confirmed anything of the kind.
