Rashford’s current deal expires at the end of the season but Erik ten Hag is keen to keep him and Diogo Dalot around.

And according to the Dutchman United will trigger a clause in both of their contracts to extend their stay at the club until 2024.

Ten Hag said: “We are talking to them to extend contracts, but we have control because we have an option on all the players and we will exercise those options.”

But Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to be interested in Marcus Rashford.

And the French giants could try and lure Rashford away from United with an offer of £850,000-a-week.

PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi admitted he tried to sign Rashford in the past and is plotting a summer move for the 25-year-old.

He said: “Again, he is another player that is really amazing and for free, to have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.

“Definitely, there is no hiding it, we spoke before on the interest but the moment was not a good moment for both sides.

“Maybe, summer why not? But today if he is a free agent we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now.

“Let him focus on the World Cup and after hopefully in January we will talk to him.”
