Malami Secures Provision of E-learning Tools, Services at School in Kebbi

Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN has facilitated the provision of Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) Tools and Services to enhance E-learning at Dr. Amina Girls Secondary School, Birnin-Kebbi, Birnin-Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The approval for the provision of ICT tools and services to the school was also conveyed to the Principal of the School with the Honourable
Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN being notified in a letter dated 21st July, 2020.

Signed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economu, Dr. Isa Ibrahim Ali (Pantami), the letter reads in part “I write to forward the attached letter from the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) for the provision of School Knowledge Centre at Dr. Amina Girls Secondary School, Birnin-Kebbi, Birnin-Kebbi Local Government Area of
Kebbi State”.

In a separate letter addressed to the Principal of the School, the Head of Information and Communication Technology of the USPF, Engr.
Chukwu E. Emmmanuel stated that “consequently, the USPF Secretariat wishes to inform you that your school has been selected as one of the
beneficiaries of the USPF 2019 School Knowledge Centre (SKC) Project. This nomination was facilitated by Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) FNCS,
FBCS, FIIM, Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy/Chairman Board Universal Service Provision Fund, on the
recommendation of Honourable Abubakar Malami, SAN – Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation”.

He said arrangement are now at advanced stage for the commencement of installation of the infrastructure and associated devices/services.

The Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to facilitate the achievement of national policy goals for universal access and universal service to
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in rural, un-served and underserved areas in Nigeria. It may be recalled that the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN has also, in
the same vein, facilitated the re-opening of and having additional Computer-Based Test (CBT) of the Joint Admission and Matriculation
Board (JAMB) Centres in Kebbi State. The developments are part of the Minister’s continued determination of deliberate efforts to boost the educational pursuit among youths as
well as enhance quality manpower development geared towards nation building.
