Even Buhari’s People Told Me The President Has Not Done Well – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has revealed that the people from President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state of Katsina are not satisfied with the way he is handling the security situation in Nigeria.

According to Wike, the people of Katsina shared their dissatisfaction with him when he visited the state and had a discussion with them recently.

The Governor made this known on Wednesday in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital during a consultative meeting with stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

He said the people lamented the rising cases of insecurity generally but also called out President Buhari for failing to even secure his own people in Katsina.

“I was in Katsina yesterday (Tuesday) and people were saying the president is from Katsina; our own son is the president, yet so much insecurity in Katsina State. So, it does not matter now where you come from, what matters now is who is going to do this work,” Wike said.

While canvassing for the votes of the delegates to emerge the PDP candidate for the 2023 presidential election, Wike promised to run a government of unity devoid of ethnic or tribal biases if he eventually emerges as the President of Nigeria.

He further promised to be a ‘talk and do’ President who is ready to make the right decisions in the interest of the country and the people.

He said: “If we win, we will form a government of national unity in which we will bring everybody together. God didn’t make mistake to have put us all in a country called Nigeria. God has given us everything. All that is required is strong leadership that can put everything together and you’ll see Nigeria become what it should truly be.”

“When I take action, you’ll know the president has taken action. It will not be a leadership that is unsure of what decision to make or not. I have the character and people know me for the character that I have and what I will do. Nigerians know my views on issues. If we want to do something, let’s do it rightly.”

The Rivers State Governor called on PDP delegates not to vote with bias or sentiment at the party primary but to choose a candidate that can get the job done.

He also warned against ‘fair weather’ politicians who only associate with the PDP when they want something but are quick to defect to another party when things don’t work out the way they want.
