Ekiti: Political Thugs Attack Protesters At APC Secretariat (Video)
Members of the All Progressives Congress protesting at the secretariat of the party in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, have been attacked by political thugs.
The protesting members of the ruling party could be seen running to safety in a video shared online by AIT.
The aggrieved members had gathered at the party secretariat accusing the APC-led state government of not being fair with the process.
Although accreditation has started across a few wards, some party members protesting at the secretariat could be heard saying, “No election! No primary election in Ekiti.”
The protest has been scattered after the political thugs stormed the secretariat of the party.
This is coming after seven governorship aspirants in the party withdrew from the primary election scheduled to hold today.
The aspirants, Kayode Mojo, Demola Popoola, Femi Bamisile, Bamidele Faparusi, Dayo Adeyeye, Opeyemi Bamidele and Afolabi Oluwasola on Thursday alleged that the primary election committee is made up of loyalists of the state Governor, Kayode Fayemi.
The Governorship aspirants of the ruling party claimed that Fayemi has plans to impose Biodun Oyebanji as the governorship candidate of the party in the forthcoming election.
