Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus gives knee injury update and hints at return date as he returns to working on grass

ARSENAL star Gabriel Jesus has given a knee injury update with the forward back working on grass.

The £45million striker has not featured since the comfortable 2-0 away win over Wolves last November.

Jesus then went to Qatar hoping to help Brazil lift a sixth World Cup – but he was forced to withdraw from the squad after damaging his media collateral ligament.

Brazil only reached the quarters and were knocked out by Croatia.

Luckily for Jesus, and Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s men have not lost their spot at the top of the Premier League.

Jesus has watched on as Eddie Nketiah led the line with the Gunners on 50 points after 19 games played.

And in a boost to Arsenal, Jesus appears to be nearing a return, with the ex-Manchester City striker working on grass after eight weeks out.

Jesus gleefully wrote: “After 8 weeks.”

The forward was originally set to miss 12 weeks of action, meaning Jesus could be back in early March.

Arteta will not rush Jesus back, especially with Nketiah bang in-form.

The Spaniard told Sky Sports: “Hopefully we will have him back (for the final few months of the season).

“Obviously it was a serious injury, a bit longer than we expected it.

“He is going to try to do everything he can to make it shorter but we’re going to miss him for a while.”
