Arsenal labelled ‘banter club’ as key summer transfer set to MISS Nottingham Forest opener due to admin issue
DAVID RAYA is set to miss Arsenal’s Premier League opener even if he is signed before the match.
The Gunners have been labelled a “banter club” after an admin issue prevented them from registering him before the deadline.

Clubs must register players with the league by midday on the working day before the match for them to be included in the squad.
The rule means Arsenal had until 12pm on Friday to register Raya for him to be included against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
However, Sky Sports report that they have been unable to register his arrival in time.
As a result, the Spaniard will not be included in the matchday squad to face Forest at the Emirates Stadium.
Raya is set to complete a move across London from Brentford.
Reacting to the news, one fan slammed Arsenal by tweeting: “Banter club.”
Another commented: “Of course we were too slow.”
Others were less concerned, with a third supporter adding: “He wouldn’t have played anyway.”

Meanwhile, one more wrote: “This is not really an issue for me.”
Despite not being registered in time to face Forest, Raya is expected to join the Gunners imminently.
He will sign for Arsenal on an initial loan for £3million after an agreement was reached with Brentford.
Mikel Arteta’s side will then have the option to buy him for £27million next summer.
The Spaniard will provide direct competition for Aaron Ramsdale and arrives following Matt Turner’s departure to Forest this week.
