Will Smith Confessed That He Almost Murdered His Father Once: He Was Full Of Resentment

Will Smith is one of those actors who, for his great charisma and roles in action films, is very loved by people, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, he had moments of reflection and even found himself in his worst shape.

That time served the actor to reflect on his life, his career, and his role as a father, so he decided to get back in shape and put out a book with his never-before-told memories and confessions.

Among the things that the actor reveals from films such as Project Gemini, Men in Black, and Suicide Squad (2016), are difficult moments in his life, having been bankrupt, being arrested, his divorce, and other controversial topics.

But one of the most shocking stories he has confessed has to do with the complicated relationship he had with his father, Mr. Willard Carroll Smith, who died of cancer in 2016.

Will Smith’s father was violent

In a preview to the pages of his book called Will, the actor says that his father was violent and drank a lot, but that he was always there for him when he needed him and in the important moments of his life.

“My father was violent, but he was also in every play and recital. I was an alcoholic, but I was sober at every premiere of my movies. He listened to every record. He visited each study. The same intense perfectionism that terrified his family was what put food on the table every night of my life.

But Will remembers that at age 9 he saw his father hit his mother so hard that he left her lying on the ground and spitting blood. This event marked him for life and haunted him for a long time in his career.

The Prince of Rap star said that behind all the fame, awards, accolades and recognitions, he always felt like a coward for not having acted that day and defended his mother.

His parents divorced in 2000, but the actor continued in contact with them and even took care of his father after he was diagnosed with cancer and spent the last moments of his life with him.

But within that time, Will confessed that anger, resentment, and a desire for revenge took hold of him for all the abuse his mother, Caroline Bright.

“One night, when I was carefully taking him in his wheelchair from his bedroom to the bathroom, darkness came over me. The path between the two rooms is at the top of the stairs. As a child, he always told me that one day I would avenge my mother, that when I was big and strong when I stopped being a coward, I would finish it.

However, at the moment they were at the edge of the stairs, Will came to his senses and with a shake of his head continued on his way to the bathroom.

Today’s 53-year-old star reflects on that moment, and the impact people have on one’s personal life and the importance of what each person knows they did selflessly for others.

In the end, it won’t matter one bit how well (people) loved you; You will only get that “smile” based on how well you loved them.
