‘Why I Use Portable As Case Study To Teach Rema, Ayra Starr And Others’ – Don Jazzy Spills

Nigerian music executive, Collins Ajireh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed why fast-rising singer, Potable, is gaining attention barely a year after he came to the limelight.

Naija News reports that Don Jazzy during a Podcast with Nigerian journalist, Joey Akan, said that he uses Potable as a case study to teach his artists about social media usage.

According to Mavin’s record boss, the ‘Zazu’ crooner came to the music industry at a time people like Buju was making wave but he (Portable) still surpass him and others with his social media followers.

He noted that Portable is entertaining and the social media algorithm favoured him because people always want to check out his page to see what he doing.

Don Jazzy added that he often advises his artists, the likes of Rema, Ayra Starr, Johnny Drille, Korede Bello, and others never to feel like they have arrived in the industry but need to keep entertaining their followers.

In his word: “When I look at some stars on social media when zazu came in, there is Buju who is a fantastic musician but then, I’m not saying his followers don’t count that very much but then the time Zazu came out, he got to a million followers on Instagram faster than Buju that had seven number one in the years before.

“He is talented, he is everything but then just because Zazu was entertaining us, the algorithm favoured him and everybody liked him and want to go to her page to see what he want to say.

“That’s someone with the help of Olamide he got to be in the limelight, I used to use him as an example to my artists and I’m like if you go and sit down and be forming juguru, the algorithm will leave you and go to where is popping.”
