James Warren White is an English professional snooker player who has won four seniors World titles, and two out of the three majors during this career.

He was born on May 2, 1962 in Tooting, London.

White has the nickname “The Whirlwind” because of his his fluid, swift and attacking style of play.

At the age of nine he discovered his interested in snooker and  in 1979 he won the English Amateur Championship.

In 1980 he became the youngest ever winner of the World Amateur Snooker Championship.

White won two major snooker tournaments in his life.

In 1992 he won the UK Championship and in 1984 the Masters.

He also has a total of ten rankings and he is twelfth on the all-time list of ranking event winners.

The closest he became to winning a World Championship was in 1994, however he reached the finals six times.

“I was so terrified of dying that I didn’t even want to tell my wife, Maureen.

“Luckily I caught it early enough.

“I even managed to produce a son – my fifth child – which is a miracle, really.”
