The National Anthem has been performed, vocals and/or instrumentals, at every Super Bowl to date with the exception of Super Bowl XI.
Whitney Houston’s rendition at Super Bowl XXV is widely accepted as one of the greatest vocal performances of all time.
The biggest night on the NFL sporting calendar will this year be hosted at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
But before the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs fill the pitch on February 12, 2023, one singer will belt out the national anthem.
The honor has this year been awarded to country music star Chris Stapleton.
He will perform The Star-Spangled Banner alongside actor Troy Kotsur, who starred in the Oscar-winning film CODA.
The deaf star will present the national anthem in American Sign Language.

Chris Stapleton, 44, is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer from Lexington, Kentucky.
The dad-of-five will sing the National Anthem for the crowd of 100,000 and millions of viewers at home, after R&B icon Babyface sings America the Beautiful.
He was crowned Male Vocalist of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) in November 2022.
The artist is best known for his hits You Should Probably Leave and Tennessee Whiskey – but he is also the man behind a string of international hits.
His songs have ended up on the albums of the likes of Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.
Chris has collaborated with a string of huge names such as Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine and even featured in Game of Thrones.
His multi-platinum debut solo album Traveller, released in 2015 and filled with songs of love, loss and whiskey, ushered in a new era of raw and real kick-ass country.
The singer’s work has been recognized with a number of awards, including eight Grammy’s, 10 Academy of Country Music accolades and 14 CMA awards.
Chris was the frontman for The SteelDrivers and also The Jompson Brothers.
The musician is married to fellow singer-songwriter Morgane Stapleton, who co-wrote Carrie Underwood’s hit single Don’t Forget to Remember Me.
The couple have five children and got wed in October 2007.
