Who is Adrian Lewis’ wife?
Adrian Lewis is married to wife Sarah.
The couple, who share children together, tied the knot in 2012 – after previously dating in their younger years.
What illness does Adrian Lewis’ wife have?
As of September 2023, Lewis has not specified the nature of his wife’s illness.
In April 2016, Lewis revealed he was “playing through heartache” as Sarah battled kidney problems.
At the time Lewis said: “I’ve got a lot of personal problems right now. My wife Sarah has been in and out of hospital for 18 months.
“She’s been back in with serious kidney problems over the past few weeks.
“I’m very worried about her. I don’t want to go into any further detail, but it’s very hard at the minute. That puts a fair bit of pressure on my home life.
”I’m looking after the kids full-time and juggling that with my darts.
”It’s very difficult to concentrate knowing Sarah is not well.”
What has Adrian Lewis said about his wife’s illness?
His form dipped and world ranking began to plummet as he dealt with various family issues, notably caring for Sarah.
Speaking to SunSport at a Target Darts launch in his first interview of this year, Lewis said: “After 20 years of playing darts, I think I just needed freshening up a bit.
“I think I was getting a bit stale. The buzz wasn’t there.
“My wife hasn’t been very well. So I’ve been in hospital with her a lot of time. We’re trying to balance everything at home.
“On the oche, it was just that I didn’t want to be there. My mind wasn’t there. My mind wasn’t on the darts.
“I didn’t think it was fair if I kept turning up when someone else could have had the spot.”
When did Adrian Lewis begin his darts career?
Prior to announcing that he would be stepping away from the oche for a period of time, Lewis has enjoyed a successful darts career that began just aged 18 – when he won the 2003 British Teenage Open.
He then went on to start his professional career in the British Darts Organisation (BDO), before joining the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).
He won back-to-back world titles at Alexandra Palace in 2011 and 2012.
Lewis is also a four-time winner of the PDC World Cup of Darts.
