We run a lovely horse Newbury who has a massive chance and I can’t wait to run Love Envoi at Cheltenham
THINGS are hotting up nicely after the freeze and we’ve got big plans for Trials Day at Cheltenham.
Firstly, though, we’ve got a nice sort at Newbury on Tuesday in VALADON (2.00).

He’s had two good spins down at Exeter, winning his latest race. He had to make the running last time which wasn’t ideal but learnt a lot from it.
I like the way he found extra at the end to hold off a well-backed horse of Harry Derham’s.
I’m keen to not to rush Valadon as he’s a very nice prospect for the future.
He will learn more today and hopefully he won’t have to do all the hard work from the front.

The rest of this week will about getting things sorted ahead of Saturday. It will be a massive day at Cheltenham for us with a couple of our big guns heading there for very important outings.
Love Envoi will go to the Grade 2 International Hurdle after her last couple of targets were abandoned. With Constitution Hill out of this, we had a look at all the options and decided that this was best.
We are keen to run her sooner rather than later, so we didn’t want to make her wait for Warwick in February. She won the Mares’ Novices’ at the Festival over course and distance in 2022, so this race should be made for her.
Joining her on Saturday is Gidleigh Park, who is in great form ahead of Grade 2 Novices’ Hurdle.
He’s been very impressive so far on all three starts and this race was always the plan after Newbury. It’s a step up in grade but he’s earnt it and we’re excited to see how he goes.
We’ve had some good novice hurdlers and hopefully he’s right up there with the best of them. The Ballymore is more than likely where he’ll end up although we haven’t entirely ruled out the Albert Bartlett.
Looking further ahead and we’re going to aim Boothill at the Game Spirit at Newbury. He did have an entry at the Dublin Racing Festival, but we’re going to stay at home.
