Watch keeper score ‘longest goal in history’ from own box as opposite number has a nightmare
AN ARGENTINE goalkeeper left football fans in disbelief after scoring from inside his OWN six-yard box.
The goal could set the Guinness World Record for the longest strike in football history.

It was scored by goalie Leandro Requena in a Chilean top-tier match between Cobresal and Colo-Colo.
In the 77th minute, with his side Cobresal already 2-0 up, Requena dropped the ball in front of him and gave it an almighty whack from inside his own six-yard box.
The ball sailed through the air and bounced just in front of Colo-Colo goalie Brayan Cortes, who was stood miles off his line.
It bounced over Cortes, who desperately backtracked to try and head it clear.
Cortes then lost his footing momentarily as the ball looped over him, and his desperate attempt to scramble back to reach the ball was in vain.
After it trickled over the line Requena was mobbed by his team-mates.
Football fans on social media were left in awe by the incredible strike, with one writing on Twitter: “This is absolutely wild.”
Another exclaimed: “Incredible goal kick.”

And a third added: “Wow congrats to goalie Leandro Requena – – the longest goal in soccer history.”
According to TNT Sports Chile, Requena’s goal was from a distance of 101 metres (110 yards).
The current record for the longest range goal in history is a 96.01 metre effort from Newport County goalkeeper Tom King in 2021.
Goalscorer Requena confirmed after the game that the club will apply for the goal to be a new Guinness World Record.
He told Radio Bio Bio: “I asked Juan Silva, the club’s manager, if the request for the record application was really going to be made and he told me ‘obviously yes’.”
Cobresal went on to win the game 3-1.
