Watch as forgotten England star Oxlade-Chamberlain is squared up to by rival in heated clash before LAUGHING in his face

THIS is the moment forgotten England star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was squared up to by a rival in a heated clash.

The intense scenes came in a Turkish football clash between Besiktas and Ankaragucu earlier this month.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 30, plays for the former after joining them last summer from Liverpool.

Besiktas currently sit fifth in the Super Lig but can lift the Turkish Cup with victory over Trabzonspor in tonight’s final.

They beat Ankaragucu 1-0 in the semi-final to seal their spot in the showpiece event.

And Oxlade-Chamberlain prepared for the final by reliving a heated clash between himself and semi opponent Atakan Cankaya.

The 25-year-old midfielder targeted Ox during a fiery moment on the pitch.

Cankaya squared up to the ex-Arsenal man before leaning his face in.

He then turned away and walked off as the referee intervened.

But Oxlade-Chamberlain brilliantly laughed off the incident.

And ahead of tonight’s final, he posted the incident to his Instagram before delivering a bold message.

Ox said: “You have to enjoy the fight and come through it, to have big moments like this that can make history.

“Massive game and only one outcome we are focused on achieving.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain has enjoyed a decent spell in Turkey, scoring four goals in 28 matches.

He recently returned from a hamstring injury lay-off and will be hoping to crown his debut season with a trophy.

The Ox started his career at Southampton, playing 43 times and scoring 10 goals before joining Arsenal in 2011.

He scored 20 times in 198 outings for the Gunners and was then bought by Liverpool in 2017.

But Oxlade-Chamberlain was plagued by injuries at Anfield and scored 18 goals in 146 games before his summer move to Turkey.

The midfielder is also a 35-time England international, scoring seven goals since his debut in 2012.

But Ox’s last game came in 2019 and he was not considered by Gareth Southgate for this summer’s Euros squad.
