Transfers: Dutch Star Refuses To Rule Out United Move

Highly-rated Dutch star, Cody Gakpo, has refused to rule out his transfer to Manchester United in January.

This year, the PSV attacker has excelled for both his club and the Netherlands national team.

With 12 goals and 15 assists in all competitions for the Eredivisie team this season, the 23-year-old has been in superb form.

Gakpo has scored goals against Senegal and Ecuador for Holland at the World Cup, replicating his performance for his club as Louis van Gaal’s team attempts to move to the final round of the tournament.

Naija News recalls that the Dutch forward was strongly linked to joining Erik Ten Hag’s men last summer, but the deal didn’t go through.

However, following his recent electrifying performance at the World Cup and the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo from Old Trafford,  the PSV star has been reportedly linked with numerous clubs including United.

Gakpo claims his priority is on the World Cup despite the current rumours about his future, although he did not completely rule out leaving the Philips Stadion in January.

“Right now I’m busy with the Dutch team. I’ll see what happens in the winter. In football, anything is possible,” he said.

“I’m focused now on the World Cup. It’s always nice to hear but I just focus here and do my best. I don’t get shy about the rumours. But it’s a team sport, it’s not about one person.

“I prefer it to be about the team. It’s nice things that people write, but I’m not too concerned with that. I’m not surprised.

“I know what I’m capable of but it’s always a challenge to reach your highest level, that’s possible. I’m not there yet, I can improve in a lot of things,” he added.
