Transfer Window: Alexis Sanchez To Join Marseille

Chilean professional footballer who plays as a forward for Inter Milan, Alexis Sanchez is set to move to Marseille as a free agent.

Naija News understands that the 33-year-old player’s contract with Milan will be terminated this summer.

The former Manchester United player, according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, is on the verge of signing for the Ligue 1 side as his current deal with Milan is about to end.

“Olympique Marseille will be in direct contact with Alexis Sanchez agents in the next days, as termination of the contract with Inter is agreed and will be signed soon,” Romano wrote on his microblogging, Twitter page on Thursday, August 4, 2022.

It could be recalled that Sanchez joined Inter from Manchester United on a free transfer in 2020.

The Chilean international netted only 20 goals and provided 23 assists in 108 games for the Italian professional football club.

Bernd Leno Leaves Arsenal, Joins Fulham

English Premier League giants Arsenal have permanently sold German shot-stopper, Bernd Leno to newly promoted side, Fulham.

Naija News reports that Leno, who joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen in June 2018, made 125 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

A statement on Arsenal’s official website reads in part: “During the 2020/21 season, the 30-year-old goalkeeper made 49 appearances, more than any other Arsenal player. During the campaign, Bernd kept 16 clean sheets in all competitions and brought up his 100th Arsenal appearance in February 2021 in our 3-2 UEFA Europa League win over Benfica.

“During his time with us, Bernd became a regular in the German national team set-up and was named in his country’s squad for Euro 2020.

“In his debut season at Emirates Stadium, Bernd soon endeared himself to our supporters with some match-defining performances, notably with a series of world-class saves against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, and Leicester City. This form continued into his further seasons with us, where Bernd demonstrated his superb reactions and ability to produce the very best on the biggest stage.

“We thank you Bernd for your contribution to the club during your four years with us.

“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Bernd and his family all the very best in their new chapter.”
