Tommy Fury’s win over Jake Paul sees over 1,000 punters land 100/1 RequestABet – including £1k for one lucky bettor

TOMMY FURY maintained his boxing pride and collected a tidy prize purse when earning a split decision win over Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia.

But it wasn’t just the 23-year-old who pocketed a tidy sum off the fight after an incredible 100/1 RequestABet landed in the contest.

And Sky Bet have revealed that 1,225 punters backed the monster odds, which included Fury to win.

The bet in question was for Fury to win the fight in any capacity, with both fighters being deducted a point.

Given the incredible build-up and intense rivalry between the pair, fireworks were expected and points being deducted was never out of the question.

And indeed that would prove to be the case, with Paul deducted a point in Round Five for a punch to the back of his rival’s head.

Fury then evened up the deductions when he was penalised for holding a round later.

The fighters were made aware of the score at the halfway point of the eight-round bout, as per the new scoring system.

Paul knew he’d need a stoppage, with Fury ahead at that stage.

The decision went in Fury’s favour despite rival Paul scoring a knockdown in Round Eight.

And a combination of the result and fact both fighters lost points meant over 1,000 people won big with Sky Bet’s 100/1 special.

They tweeted: “1,225 customers backed this bet. What a winner.”

It was accompanied by one punter’s winning bet slip, with a £10 stake pocketing a lovely £1,010.
