Tinubu-Shettima on Tackling Poverty (If elected)
While Nigeria remains one of Africa’s largest economies, it also holds the unenviable position as the world poverty capital, with a 33.3% rate of youth unemployment. Amongst other things, one of the goals of APC presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu is to provide for all Nigerians the basic needs of life at the minimum.
Tinubu boldly declared that he will make the complete eradication of poverty a significant priority of his administration. He promises to get as many Nigerians as possible to work and earn decent wages. He notes that the whole country is endowed with resources that can be harnessed for greater economic development, and so the people can live well.
Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is determined to break the shackle of poverty and destitution in Nigeria. An unprecedented number of jobs will be created and as a result, this will absorb millions of young Nigerians, thereby pulling them out of poverty and positioning them on the path of prosperity.
Bola Tinubu takes pride in ruling Lagos for eight years (two-term governor of Lagos State) and transforming the state to a mega city. He practically called himself a builder. By virtue of his experience and unprecedented accomplishments governing a state like Lagos, he has the capacity to transform Nigeria to become a prosperous nation.
One of his strategies to tackle poverty in Nigeria is to start a Social Welfare Scheme making Monthly Direct Cash Payments to as many vulnerable Nigerians as possible (about 25 million). These Nigerians include unemployed Mothers of School-age children under 18 years, senior Citizens over 65 yrs, Pregnant Women, and the disabled, armed services veterans who meet set guidelines under a “Social Insurance Contract with Vulnerable Nigerians.”
The APC presidential candidate come 2023, Bola Tinubu is set to attract foreign direct investment in the country to create jobs, re-industrialise our country and accelerate economic development. This indeed will go a long way to promote employment. He is set to introduce policies that will boost Nigeria’s economy and eliminate suffering in the land if elected as Nigeria’s President in the 2023 election.
Bola Tinubu urges Nigerians to choose wisely and vote for a man that knows the way. There is no doubt that the nation needs a competent leader who has the capacity and initiative to revive the ailing economy for the governed. Tinubu is no doubt the man who knows the way and the best man at this moment to rule Nigeria
