Tijjani Abdullahi assumes office as Kaduna SUBEB Chairman

Tijjani Abdullahi, on Wednesday assumed office as the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board.

Abdullahi took over from Abdullahi Sani, who was moved to the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs as pioneer Permanent Secretary.

He thanked the outgone chairman for laying a strong foundation for the transformation of basic education in the state, which he described as “crucial” for education development in the state.

According to him, basic education remained a critical foundation needed to ensure sustainable development in the education sector, saying, “if we don’t get it right, we will have problem in our development endeavours.

“I believe we need physical infrastructure, but we equally need quality teachers and instructional materials to ensure quality teaching and learning,” he said.

Earlier, Sani thanked the management and staff of the board for all the necessary support and cooperation accorded to him and urged them to extend same to the new chairman.

The Permanent Secretary, Amina Adamu Ikara, on behalf of the management, thanked the outgone chairman for his contribution to the development of basic education in the state.

She assured Tijjani Abdullahi of the full support of the management and staff of the board with a view to take the board to greater height.

Also, the Permanent Member, Human Resource, Dr Christy Alademerin and her counterpart, Permanent Member, Physical and Project Management, Mubarak Mohammed, equally thanked the outgone chairman for his good leadership qualities and expressed optimism that the new chairman would promote sustainable transformation of basic education in the state.
