Sammie Okposo, born on May 30th 1971, is an international-Nigerian gospel artist, music producer and CEO of Zamar Entertainment.
The music producer began his career as a sound track producer for Nollywood in 1992. He became more popular and got to the flashpoint of his career when he created Sammie Okposo Praise Party, a platform which gave a voice to up and coming gospel artiste.
He was known for his creativity and taking the music from the default church environment.
Endorsement: The singer’s 2004 album ‘Addicted’ was a great success that led to him bagging endorsement with popular telecoms provider, Globacom. He also became a United Nations Peace Ambassador.
Awards: Okposo constant hit songs in the 2000 earned him the 2006 Kora Best Gospel Artiste in Africa; the 2014 Crown SABC Best for African Gospel and the 2005 Afro Hollywood UK Best Gospel Artiste.
Romance: It was alleged that Okposo has been involved with several ladies popular amongst them, Nollywood’s Kate Henshaw. In an interview in 2012 with a national newspaper Sammie had said that he would never cheat on his wife. This was during the time the couple were trying to conceive. However, it seems the singer broke his promise when he revealed he had a relationship with an American while still married to his wife.
