Shehu Sani Reacts As APC Set To Commence National Convention

A Senator of the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani has reacted to the upcoming national convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Naija News reports that the ruling party had scheduled its convention for Saturday, March 26, 2022.

Barely 24hours to the commencement of the political event which will be attended by delegates from 33 States of the nation, Senator Sani said the convention is just a mere political ritual.

According to him, the delegates and party members will end up attending the convention just to endorse a candidate of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former lawmaker asserted this in a post via his verified Facebook page on Friday, Naija News reports.

Sani stressed that the event is a mere formality that will end up with merriment and a troop of support to the president’s choice.

The Kaduna State Governorship hopeful wrote: “The convention is a mere formality for party members and leaders, coming from far and near to the venue, to totally accept and endorse the choices of Mr President for party leadership.

“And to smile and dance and you must call it ‘democratic’ whether you like it or not.

“That is the traditional ritual of Nigeria’s ruling political party history past and present,” Sani reiterated.

Meanwhile, the Saraki Campaign Council has boasted that if former Senate President, Bukola Saraki becomes President of Nigeria, the country will move and become one of the four greatest nations in the world.

With the Peoples Democratic Party’s primary for the 2023 presidential election in view, the former Kwara State Governor’s campaign group is assuring Nigerians that he is the candidate who is the best to salvage the nation from its current state.

Naija News understands many politicians have expressed interest in succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari come 2023.

However, the Saraki Campaign Council is optimistic that the former lawmaker will deliver well considering his excellent leadership of the 8th National Assembly.

The group said Saraki was careful enough to ensure that the constitution of the country was adhered to in all government dealings during his time.
