Shehu Sani Reacts As Adesina Obtains N100m APC Presidential Form

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to reports that the President of African Development Bank, AfDB, Akinwumi Adesina, joined the 2023 presidential race.

Naija News reported that a coalition of 28 groups have purchased the nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the former Minister of Agriculture.

The group obtained the forms for Adesina at the International Conference (ICC), the venue of the ruling party’s 2023 elections secretariat.

The coalition led by the Head of One Nigeria Group, Mohammed Saleh, urged the AfDB boss to officially declare his presidential ambition as he is the most qualified candidate for the job.

Reacting to this development, Sani warned the former minister not to deceive himself by declaring his intention to become the next President in 2023.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Saturday, the former lawmaker advised Adesina not to allow other people to deceive him to join the presidential race under APC.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, however, advised Adesina to remain at the AfDB.

He wrote: “Akinwumi Adesina should not deceive himself nor allow others to deceive him. Remain in that AFDB and ignore that lottery ticket.”
