Senator Shehu Sani Loses Kaduna PDP Gubernatorial Ticket

Former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central in the Senate, Shehu Sani has lost the gubernatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Kaduna State.

Naija News reports that the former lawmaker lost the primary election to Honourable Isah Ashiru.

Recall that another aspirant for the Kaduna PDP ticket Datti Baba-Ahmed had earlier withdrawn from the race.

Shehu Sani had constantly maintained that he will not give any delegate money to vote for him in the primaries.

According to the former Senator, he does not have the money to bribe PDP delegates.

Confirming his defeat in a post on his Twitter on Thursday morning, Sani congratulated Isah Ashiru for his victory.

He however insisted that he refused to give delegates a dime to sway votes in his favour.

The popular former lawmaker appreciated the two delegates that decided to vote for him despite not receiving money from him.

Shehu Sani wrote: “The Kaduna PDP Governorship primaries has been concluded. I lost and Honourable Isah Ashiru won. I wish to congratulate him.

“Two Delegates voted for me without giving them a dime; unfortunately, I don’t know who they are, so that I can appreciate these clean votes. We look forward.”
