Scotland star Blair Kinghorn played his part in Toulouse’s semi-final win over Harlequeins in the Champions Cup, scoring three conversions in the 38-26 victory.

The French rugby powerhouse saw off a late surge from the Welsh side to book their place in the final which will be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 25.

It’s the eighth time Toulouse have made the final of the competition, a record they share with Leinster – and that’s who they will meet in just under three weeks’ time.

Toulouse have won the cup five times, the most of any team.

Kinghorn will be desperate to feature in the showpiece but after sustaining a horrific facial injury he will have to take it easy in the build-up if he is to have a hope of playing.

The fullback made a try-saving block on opposite number Tyrone Green in the final seconds of the game, forcing the ball into touch.

After the collision, Kinghorn lay on the floor holding his face but he was able to stand up and go off for treatment moments later.

The 27-year-old was unable to celebrate with the rest of the Toulouse squad after the match as he had his wounds strapped up.

His nose was broken and he suffered a black eye as well as bleeding around his nose and lip.

He shared a post on his Instagram account with the caption “London is calling”, accompanied with a flurry of pictures from the game.

He included an image of him being treated on the sidelines by the club’s medical staff and another showing the full extent of the injury once he’d returned home all taped up.

Fans rushed to wish him well on his recovery.

One said: “Get well, we need you.”

A second said: “Well that is a sore one watch the game play well good lad.”

Another Toulouse fan said: “It’s a good thing you had the nose or you would have taken it in the face.”

A fourth said: “Get well soon from your Ulster rugby fans in Belfast.”

A fifth said: “Get well soon Blair!”

Another joked: “Your nose already went to London mate!”

Kinghorn has played 53 times for the Scotland national team, scoring tries in both the Six Nations and the Rugby World Cup for his country.

He joined Toulose last year after eight years with Edinburgh.
