Ronaldo May Dump Man United For Chelsea As Boehly Makes Move

Portuguese professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo may join Chelsea this summer.

American businessman and new owner of Chelsea, Todd Boehly was said to have met with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes last week over the possible transfer.

Naija News understands that Ronaldo is in love with the Red Devils but current issues with the club may change his mind about ending his professional career at the Old Trafford.

Reporting on Saturday, popular football correspondent, David Ornstein wrote on Twitter that “Todd Boehly met Jorge Mendes in Portugal last week. The idea of Cristiano Ronaldo to Chelsea is among the subjects discussed. Unclear if Chelsea will pursue it. Man Utd expects him to stay.”

Recall that Boehly became the new Chelsea owner just a month ago following issues that befell former owner, Roman Abramovich.

The Russian oligarch was left with no choice but to sell the club in March after receiving sanctions from the British government for what it called his enabling of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “brutal and barbaric invasion” of Ukraine.

Boehly after an agreement was reached following the commitment of £1.75bn by him, took over responsibilities of the club including investments in Stamford Bridge, the Academy, the Women’s Team and Kingsmeadow and other funding for the Chelsea Foundation.
