#RiversDecides: Wike Reacts To Candidate’s Victory As Fubara Makes First Pledge As Governor-Elect

The victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded governorship and state assembly elections in Rivers State has been dedicated to God.

Naija News reports that this is as the state governor, Nyesom Wike has openly declared that he dedicates the PDP’s victory in Rivers to God.

It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Monday, declared the PDP candidate, Siminialayi Fubara, the governor-elect of Rivers State.

Fubara, who is Wike’s ‘anointed’ candidate emerged as a winner by defeating his opponent in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tonye Cole with 302,614 votes as against his 95,274 votes.

In his reaction to the victory, Wike while jubilating at the Government House in Port Harcourt said it was only God that could guarantee the kind of victory achieved by the party.

On his part, the governor-elect of the state, Fubara pledged to continue from where his predecessor stopped and vowed not to disappoint the people of the state.

Meanwhile, APC candidate, Tonye Cole had called on the commission to cancel the election in the state as he and other kicked against the results while saying the mandate of the people of the state has been stolen.
