Release Obi Cubana Or Arrest Bola Tinubu Too – Deji Adeyanju Tells Anti-graft Agency, EFCC

Human rights’ activist and convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, has asked anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes’ Commission (EFCC), to release billionaire socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, more commonly known as Obi Cubana.
Adeyanju said in the event the EFCC could not release him, it should charge him to court to face the law, while daring the agency to go after former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, with a string of corruption controversies around him.

Cubana had been arrested on Monday for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.
The entrepreneur had arrived at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters in Jabi, Abuja around noon on Monday.
It was gathered that investigators asked Cubana to provide two sureties who must be Federal directors before he will be released.
Reacting to his continued detention, Adeyanju said EFCC should release Cubana and go after Tinubu.
In a tweet, Adeyanju wrote, “Obi Cubana to spend 3rd night in EFCC custody. Charge him to Court or release him. More importantly, go and arrest Tinubu.”

SaharaReporters had on Wednesday reported that the businessman had been granted administrative bail but had yet to perfect the bail conditions.
Obi Cubana made headlines in July when he hosted an ostentatious burial for his mother in Oba, Anambra State, in which over 200 cows were reportedly killed.
The lavish display of wealth generated controversies with many Nigerians questioning his source of wealth.
Several celebrities, business people and politicians turned out in large numbers for the funeral.
