Rasmus Hojlund posts grovelling four-word apology to Man Utd fans after dismal Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle

RASMUS HOJLUND has offered an apology to Manchester United fans following the club’s Carabao Cup exit.

The Red Devils were knocked out of the competition last night after a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Newcastle United.

Rasmus Hojlund has issued an apology to Manchetser United fans after their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle last nightRex

And £72million man Hojlund has felt it necessary to apologise to Man Utd fans after yet another disappointing performance from the players.

He took to Instagram to muster a four word statement, writing: “Sorry for today everyone…”

The Danish international came on in the 64th minute of the Old Trafford clash, but was unable to help his side overturn their three goal deficit.

It’s the second 3-0 defeat that Man Utd have succumb to in the space of four days after they were taught a lesson by noisy neighbours Man City on Sunday.

And with both defeats coming at the Theatre of Dreams, boss Erik ten Hag has admitted he feels sorry for fans given the side’s recent form.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “We know it’s not good enough. We have to take responsibility for it. I have to take responsibility for it.

“I feel sorry for the fans. It was below our standards and we have to put it right.

“We have to recover from it and we have to do it quickly. Saturday is the next game [against Fulham] and we have to raise our standards. This is not good enough.”

Ten Hag’s side will travel to Craven Cottage on Saturday for the early kick off as they look to change their fortunes.

But after the historic club’s worst start in 61 years the Dutch boss could be in trouble if things don’t change soon.

He is now second favourite to face the sack next in the Premier League according to the bookies with only 20th placed Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom above him.

And even club legend Gary Neville has hinted that a ten Hag exit could be nearing in a post-match rant on X (formerly Twitter).
