Protesters Storm Police Headquarters Over Killings In Kogi
Some aggrieved members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), have stormed the Police headquarters in Abuja over the killing of three policemen and some members of the party at Anyigba, Kogi State.
Naija News learned that the governorship candidate of the party in the November 11 election, Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, led a protest.
Ajaka was accompanied by leaders of the party and supporters who were not pleased with the killings in the state.
The SDP Governorship candidate demanded the removal and prosecution of the State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha.
Ajaka, on Tuesday, alleged that the Commissioner of Police in the state has compromised in securing lives and properties.
Naija News had earlier reported that some thugs attacked the residence of the Campaign Director General of SDP, Ibrahim Jibrin, in the early hours of Tuesday.
A police operative was killed during the incident, while six supporters of the SDP were reportedly abducted.
As at the time of filing this report, Ajaka, the Campaign Director-General, Suleiman Babanawa (retd), and a former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba, were in a meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
