Piers Morgan taunts the ‘real problem’ Erik Ten Hag in brutal Cristiano Ronaldo jibe post as Man Utd fans turn on boss

PIERS MORGAN led calls for Erik ten Hag to be ousted at Manchester United.

The Red Devils fell to a 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace to make it four defeats in seven league games, their worst start ever to a Premier League season.

Fuming fans took to Twitter to voice their frustration on the game where Joachim Anderson’s stunning first-half strike made all the difference, while boos rang around Old Trafford at full-time.

The hashtag “TenHagOut” was trending on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, with Morgan posting two tweets about Ten Hag in the space of ten minutes.

His first saw him share an image of Ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo sitting on the bench, captioning the post: “One of these men was driven out of United because he was deemed ‘the problem’ at the club.

“Painfully obvious who the real problem was/is. Clue: it wasn’t @Cristiano.”

The second saw him share an image of himself sitting alongside Ronaldo with thumbs up posing for a camera.

Arsenal fan Morgan interviewed Ronaldo before the Portuguese legend left Man Utd after attacking Ten Hag and blasting the Glazers’ running of the club.

On Ten Hag, one fan remarked online: “He’s been here for two years now and we have zero style of play, that alone should have question marks over him.”

However, a number of other fans remained supportive of Ten Hag, referencing player performances and a controversial handball decision from the referee for the defeat today.

One said: “He’s actually the best tactically we have had since SAF. We’re not losing cause of tactics.. we’re losing cause of players abilities.”

A second wrote: “Ten Hag will soon get blamed and players/fans will turn on him. Then he’ll get sacked and the next shiny manager appointed. Rinse and repeat.”

While a third directly responded to Morgan’s post by saying: “Why is this man so obsessed with Man United and Ronaldo.”

After today’s defeat, United sit tenth in the table.

They host Brentford next week but face Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek before that.
