Pep Guardiola ODDS-ON to leave Man City before next season with Barca most likely move

PEP GUARDIOLA is likely to leave Manchester City before the start of the next season.

That’s the view of bookmakers Betfair who have priced the City boss at an ODDS-ON price of 1/2 to quit the Etihad following the alleged financial rules breach.

Guardiola has just over two years left on his current City deal – but previously threatened to QUIT if financial rules had been broken by those at the club.

City have now been charged with over 100 breaches after a four-year investigation into their finances.

The breaches are alleged to have taken place over nine seasons between 2009 and 2018 – when the investigation first started.

Amongst the possible punishments for the club include a points deduction, stripping of titles won, transfer bans, spending limits and even expulsion from the Premier League.

When the investigation was first brought to light, the 52-year-old addressed the media and admitted he would leave his post if those he worked for had ‘lied’ about their dealings.

Speaking then, Guardiola said: “I said to our people, ‘Tell me’ about the suspicions. I looked at them and believed them 100 per cent from day one so I defended the club because of that.

“I did say, ‘If you lie to me, the day after I am not here. I will be out and you will not be my friend any more’.”

As a result, Betfair make it 1/2 that he departs the Etihad before the restart of the 2023/24 campaign.

He’s 6/4 to still be in charge for the new season.

Much could depend on the punishments dished out if the club are found guilty after the findings.

A sensational return to Barcelona is the most-likely move for Guardiola should he depart the Etihad, Betfair reckon.

They make it 3/1 he heads for the Camp Nou, despite Xavi’s excellent season this year.

“Odds on Guardiola to be the next Premier League manager to leave their role have been slashed to 11/2 from 100/1 on Monday morning.
