Former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye on Saturday evening caused a scene at the Presidential Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, held in MKO Abiola stadium.
The politician was seen hugging Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, after the latter withdrew his intention to contest the country’s number one political race.
Naija News reports that Tambuwal stepped down for former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
Tambuwal revealed his decision at the ongoing National Convention at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. At the venue, Tambuwal urged all his supporters and delegates to vote for Atiku.
A dramatic scene was, however, witnessed while Tambuwal was getting back to his seat. Melaye was captured on camera running to the Sokoto State Governor as he (Melaye) lifted Tambuwal off the grown to celebrate his decision.
Melaye also saluted Tambuwal as both men exchanged handshakes.
