Outrage As Ex-Accountant General Wanted For N117B Fraud Emerges PDP Governorship Candidate

Nigerians are presently outraged as Gov Nyesom Wike’s accountant-general, Similayi Fubara, who was recently declared wanted by the EFCC for looting N117 Billion, emerges PDP Governorship candidate in Rivers State.

Naija News reports that Fubara was picked by 721 delegates on Wednesday night to fly the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship flag for 2023.

This comes shortly Siminayi, and the others were declared wanted for suspected N117 billion fraud, alleged criminal conspiracy, money laundering, misappropriation of public funds, and abuse of office.

TheEFCC stated in a statement sighted by The PUNCH.

Before emerging as the party’s flag bearer, rumor had that Gov Nyesom Wike of Rivers State had picked his accountant-general, Similayi Fubara, to be the next governor.

The next thing, his name shot up on the list of Guber aspirants in the ruling PDP in the state, defeating Isaac Kamaku and George Kelly, who came a distant second and third with 86 votes 37 votes respectively.

His victorious win had stirred reactions on social media as many Nigerians are questioning the anti-graft agency on the probe of the accountant-general before the PDP governorship primaries.
