Odds on Man City getting RELEGATED next season plummet with hearing over 115 charges in ‘near future’

ODDS on Manchester City getting relegated next season have plummeted ahead of their FFP hearing in the “near future.”

City lifted a fourth successive title on Sunday as they pipped Arsenal to top spot.

Pep Guardiola’s side could make it a Double with victory over Man United in Saturday’s FA Cup final.

But the spectre of a possible points deduction still looms after City were charged with 115 breaches of Financial Fair Play in February 2023.

These include allegations of overstating sponsorship income and hiding true sources of revenue, as well as not giving full details of player wages while breaking profit and sustainability rules.

City maintain their innocence and have vowed to fight tooth and nail against the charges, with the champs ready to unleash an army of lawyers and go all the way to the Supreme Court if needed.

But while clubs like Everton and Nottingham Forest were hit with points deductions this term, City are yet to have their hearing.

Premier League chief Richard Masters finally broke his silence in April, declaring it will take place “in the near future.”

City’s hearing could take place in Autumn, with the case in the hands of the Prem’s “independent judicial panel”, Murray Rosen KC.

And bookies have now slashed their odds on City staying in the Premier League next season.

They have been given odds of just 25/1.

In comparison, title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool have odds of 2000/1.

The threat of expulsion from the Premier League is just one of several possible punishments if City are found guilty of the 115 FFP breaches.

Other potential outcomes include a transfer ban and strict spending limits.

The most severe could also see City stripped of their first three titles, with the charges dating back to 2009.
