Notable Lawmakers Lose Return Tickets In Enugu PDP Primary (Full List)

Some serving lawmakers in Enugu State lost their return tickets in the Peoples Democratic Party primary elections for the position of State House of Assembly and House of Representatives on Sunday.

Notable among them is the Reps Deputy Minority Leader, Toby Okechukwu, representing Oji River/Awgu/Aninri. The party’s ticket was won by Anayo Onwuegbu, with Okechukwu denouncing and rejecting the process.

In the Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, Pat Asadu was defeated by Vitta Abba, a former PDP chairman. The medical doctor’s ambition for a fifth term was met with fierce opposition, particularly from residents of the Nsukka Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, Asadu is yet to comment on his loss.

However,  Cornelius Nnaji, Enugu-East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency and Offor Chukwuegbo, Enugu-North/Enugu-South Federal Constituency won their return tickets. Martin Oke, Igbo-Etiti/Uzo- Uwani and Simeon Atigwe, Igbo-Eze North/Udenu earned return tickets as well.

In the Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency, however, a serving lawmaker Dennis Amadi lost his ticket as well. Festus Uzor, the Chief of Staff to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, had his way. Enugu State Deputy Governor, Cecelia Ezeilo also contested for the position.

Some of the results for the House of Assembly include: Udenu LGA, Solomon Izuchukwu Onah, a serving local government chairman, Igbo Eze North Constituency 2, Clifford Obe, Igbo Eze North Constituency 1, Ngozi Ezeja, Igbo Eze South Constituency, Vitus Okechi, a serving local government chairman, Igbo-Etiti East, Ezenta Ezeani, Igbo-Etiti West, Chukwuebuka Ugwu.

Others are: Nsukka East Constituency, Barr. Christiana Onah, Nsukka West Constituency, Amos Amadi Agbo, Uzo Uwani State Constituency, Hon. Chukwuma Ekweme.
