Manchester United vs Wolves preview
Manchester United will fancy getting their 2023-24 campaign off to a flyer against Wolves at Old Trafford on Monday.
The Red Devils, who finished third last year, have spent over £180million on new recruits with the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount and Andre Onana all arriving over the summer.
Erik ten Hag’s side look a stronger proposition on paper, but pre-season results have been mixed at best.
The Red Devils secured victories over the likes of Leeds, Lyon, Arsenal and Lens, but suffered three straight defeats to Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, conceding 2+ goals in each.
They do, however, boast an excellent record against Wolves having won six of their last eight meetings, including the league double last season.
As for Wolves, things aren’t looking too good.
Manager Julen Lopetegui left the club on Tuesday after a long-running disagreement over the club’s inability to strengthen.
They sold captain Ruben Neves to Al-Hilal for a club-record £47million and also allowed Raul Jimenez join Fulham, with the only notable incoming signing being Matt Doherty on a free transfer.
In addition to Neves and Jimenez, Nathan Collins, Conor Coady, Adama Traore and Joao Moutinho have all left Molineux.

Manchester United vs Wolves betting tips
Manchester United win to Nil at 6/5 with Paddy Power – CLAIM HERE
In theory, this should be a routine home victory for Manchester United. The Red Devils were near-perfect on home turf last season, winning 15 of their 19 league matches and losing just once. However, those victories were built on a solid defence rather than a flood of goals.
United scored 36, which was significantly less than Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. But they only conceded 10, which ranked as the best in the division by some margin. It looks as though clean sheets will again be order of the day for the hosts against a weakened side, who scored the fewest goals of any team last season.
Marcus Rashford first goalscorer at 10/3 with William Hill – CLAIM HERE
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that Marcus Rashford will be Manchester United’s main threat on Monday. The England international, 25, enjoyed his best ever return for the club last season with 30 goals in all competitions and 17 in the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag has already confirmed that newbie Rasmus Hojlund won’t be available due to injury, meaning Rashford will spearhead the attack through the middle. The forward struck in eight consecutive home matches last season, and he’s also grabbed three in his four starts against Wolves – two of which were as the first goalscorer.
Antony to score anytime at 12/5 with Ladbrokes – CLAIM HERE
Antony could be an interesting asset for Manchester United this season. The Brazilian arrived last August for a colossal £81.3million from Ajax, and delivered eight goals and three assists in his debut campaign. We can expect a lot more from the 23-year-old in the upcoming campaign.
Antony scored in back-to-back pre-season clashes against Borussia Dortmund and Lens in just over 130 minutes of action, and could capitalise on the uncertainty in the Wolves camp.
