Man Utd ‘join Arsenal and Chelsea in Dusan Vlahovic transfer race as they consider January bid for Juventus striker’

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to enter the race to sign Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports.

The Serbian only joined Juve in January of this year, but has yet to set the world alight in Turin.

Following the Italian giants’ early Champions League exit, they may need to raise funds amid financial worries.

And this could see them pulling the plug on Vlahovic’s stint at the club after just 12 months.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Man United are now among the list of clubs interested in pursuing the 22-year-old.

The Red Devils are eager to recruit a striker in January, to replace axed 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo.

To sign Vlahovic, however, they will have to beat off stiff competition.

The report adds that United’s Prem rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are keen on the former Fiorentina starlet.

While European giants Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are “monitoring” the situation.

Vlahovic has scored 16 goals in 36 appearances since joining Juve.

His tally includes seven efforts in 15 outings in all competitions this season.

Vlahovic was recently forced to deny outlandish rumours that he’s been having an affair with Serbia team-mate Predrag Rajkovic’s wife Ana.

Chatting to reporters, he said: “I am sorry to have to start the press conference in the World Cup this way, but I have to talk about it because this is my name being bandied about.

“What we all read and hear about, there’s no need to comment on something so absurd.

“Evidently these people are bored and have nothing better to do because they are frustrated or angry, but working against the national interest of the team at the moment is obviously their main job right now.

“We are more united than ever and the atmosphere in the squad has never been better. These stories are ridiculous, I just want to protect my name and my integrity, so I will take legal action if necessary.”

Serbia were eliminated at the group stage, although Vlahovic did manage to score against Switzerland.
